I’m Luke. I run Fragrance ADDX out of Adelaide, South Australia. By day I work full-time as a senior operations manager. By evening and weekend, my daughters and I pour, label, and pack every order that leaves our home.

The story behind Fragrance ADDX

I’ve been into fragrances for as long as I can remember. The kind of person who reads Fragrantica reviews at midnight, who can spend an hour at a department store counter, who notices a stranger’s cologne in passing and wonders what it is. Fragrance is one of those small luxuries that genuinely changes how you feel walking into a room — and I wanted more Australians to experience that, without the financial pain that usually comes with it.

The problem I kept seeing — in myself, in friends, in the community — was the blind-buy mistake. Someone watches a hype video, drops $300 on a full bottle, wears it twice, and discovers it doesn’t suit them. The bottle sits on a shelf. The money’s gone. The fragrance journey stalls.

I started Fragrance ADDX in September 2025 as a way to fix that. If I could decant authentic fragrances into smaller sizes and sell them at honest prices, I could help people try before they commit, build smarter rotations, and stop wasting money on bottles they’d never finish. That was the whole idea, and it’s still the whole idea.

How we decant

Every fragrance we sell comes from a genuine bottle — sourced through the brand, an authorised retailer, or a verified supplier. Nothing is white-labelled. Nothing is mystery juice. When I stock clones from houses like Lattafa, Armaf, or Bujairami, they’re labelled as inspired-by, never passed off as the original.

We decant in small batches by hand. Our atomisers are high-grade glass with proper crimped sprayers, not the leaky plastic vials some sellers cut corners with. We’d rather lose a sale than send out something we couldn’t personally vouch for.

Being based in Adelaide matters more than people realise. Fragrance is heat-sensitive — extended transit through hot shipping containers ages a scent before it even reaches you. Decants shipped domestically arrive faster, in better condition, and without the price-and-time penalty of cross-border freight.

The family business

This isn’t a warehouse. It isn’t a corporate operation. It’s me, my two daughters, our dining table, and a lot of small glass bottles.

Every order is hand-packed by us before it goes to your doorstep. Every order — regardless of how small — includes a free sample, because I want every customer to leave with something new to discover. And every order carries a bit of our family with it.
