What are the warning signs of a fake or scam decant seller?

Vague sourcing, prices dramatically lower than the per-ml cost of the original bottle, pressure to pay via methods with no buyer protection (bank transfer, crypto), no return or replacement policy, no verifiable business address, brand-new social accounts with no review history, and defensiveness when asked where the bottle came from. If a seller claims to be decanting a 100ml bottle but has sold 200ml worth of decants from it, the numbers don't work.

Why are some decants cheaper than the per-ml cost of the full bottle?

Decanters buy bottles at retail and sell smaller portions, so the per-ml price of a decant is usually higher than the per-ml price of a full bottle — not lower.
